Clear Path to Peace

Steps to Peace – we’ve gotta want it

A Course in Miracles states that the first obstacle to peace is “desiring to get rid of it”.  I’ve been watching myself experience deep states of peace, and then fall asleep to mySelf…..ending up having gotten rid of what I wanted.  So, the only thing I know to do is to relax into Divine Love in order to “get it back”.  Like I’ve said before – Peace didn’t go anywhere.  I just need to return to it, over and over, until I strengthen my inner muscles, and I don’t leave anymore.

I want Peace so bad I can taste it.  How about you?

Here is a poem by Mary Oliver, my all time favorite poet.  If you don’t know her work, go immediately to your library or nearest bookstore and feast upon her brilliance.  I offer this poem because it is so simple, and speaks to the necessity of forgiveness when walking our clear path to peace.

The Uses Of Sorrow

(In my sleep I dreamed this poem)

Someone I loved once gave me

a box full of darkness.

It took me years to understand

that this, too, was a gift.

Intuitive Wisdom

Intuitive wisdom has been known and revered throughout the ages. Sometimes it is called the sixth sense, a gut reaction, higher knowledge or inner guidance. Often, we give certain people respect, or fear, because of their abilities to tap into this wisdom. Actually, we all have this resource and we can use it at any time – but we have to know how to access it.

Unresolved memories of past pain cause emotional and psychic knots within our systems. These memories take up a lot of energy and they can sap our life force. With a lot of unhealed trauma from the past, we are not mentally clear – so we are unable to access our intuitive wisdom easily. Even if we do contact it, we may doubt it, not listen to it, override its messages and/or distrust it. When we do this, we make foolish decisions and wonder why consistent destructive patterns never seem to go away.

With an inner cleansing process of emotional release and forgiveness, the emotional and psychic knots unwind. Intuitive wisdom, which is constantly available, becomes readily accessible. We can finally hear the guiding messages coming from Spirit and trust them. If we are courageous and act upon them, a whole new life comes forth for us.

Intuitive wisdom supports every aspect of our lives and our visions. Decision making becomes simple and easy once we listen within and trust our guidance. Instead of emotional highs and lows with plenty of dramatic storytelling about our lives, we move into simplicity and peace with ourselves and our world. From this place, we are ready to fulfill our unique calling in service to others and to the Earth.

Forgiveness: a balm for the soul

Everyone wants to experience giving and receiving love. We want an experience of connection; it’s how we are hardwired. Yet there are many times when we seem to hurt each other instead, either consciously or unconsciously. The crux of the matter here is that we allow emotions of fear, doubt, anger, hurt and sadness to get in our way. The emotions form energetic knots that call for our attention, and for release. They arise in our consciousness and block the natural flow of love and peace which defines our true nature. What to do?

There are many processes that support deeper clarity and peace. Prayer, meditation, physical exercises, massage….the list is long and varied. One of the most effective and valuable processes that we can employ is forgiveness. According to A Course In Miracles , “Forgiveness is the healing of the perception of separation.” Forgiveness counseling clears our emotional pain and brings us to a direct perception of unity and peace. When we add breath techniques, body wisdom and intuitive guidance, we give ourselves a superlative opportunity for spiritual growth. With forgiveness, emotions that disturb our peace are cleansed. We feel renewed and ready for a fresh, creative beginning.

Finding Our Clear Path Within

Our Clear Path is not a physical one. Yes, we function in a physical world and our path will open up within it, but the home of our path is spiritual. The Taoists call it the Way, and it always leads to peace.

How can we find it, see it, taste it, live it? The best allies I’ve found are conscious breathing, honesty, willingness, forgiveness and opening to grace. All of these things, especially if used together, will show us where we are and where we need to go next – both within and in the material world – to come home into a deeper direct experience of peace.

It’s ironic, because the peace itself doesn’t get greater or smaller, doesn’t come close or go away. We do. Our understanding and intention, moment by moment, either brings us closer to an experience of divine love, or to an experience of being farther away. Divine grace is constantly available…so we must examine the question: do we want it?

A Course In Miracles states that the first obstacle to peace is “the desire to get rid of it” (Chap.19.IV.A). How many times have you and I experienced peace and then “lost” the feeling? Or complained that we don’t feel it at all, or enough? A fine question to ask, then, is how am I desiring to get rid of peace? Honesty is required for a satisfactory answer.

You can find your Clear Path To Peace. It is freedom. Just ask yourself: do I really want it?

Clear Path To Peace

This blog is dedicated to all people and their clear path to peace. In this, my first post, I’ll share with you what a clear path means to me. As a peace educator and forgiveness counselor, I am entranced by the possibilities of walking this path….with you…..

Clear: allowing, welcoming, unimpeded, unobstructed, available

Path: way, avenue, journey, process

To Peace: to love, this moment, deep spiritual resting & relaxation in truth

A welcoming way to love….An allowing process in this moment….An unobstructed journey into deep spiritual rest…

This path is available to every person in every moment. Why don’t we choose it? Because let’s get honest here – it is a very definite choice. One fraught with meaning and potential, moment by moment by moment.

My life, work and writing are dedicated to this path. I’ve found forgiveness to be the most potent and fascinating way to walk it. Forgiveness is accompanied by breath, release, learning, compassion, prayer and rejuvenation.

In my posts, I’ll be sharing what I’ve learned and listening to you as you respond. We will explore the many aspects of our awakening into the One….the Light that holds us and gives us Life.

Please feel free to respond and share your views. I look forward to hearing from you!
