One reasons with the intellect which is a product of the mind, and which perishes with the body. When through prayer, meditation or faith, or loving dedication to a task, the intellect becomes enlightened, one begins to see the light more clearly, and the answer comes in a flash. No thinking is needed. Reason can make mistakes. Intuition never makes mistakes. Intuition can be the gift of anyone, but it is much more evident in the female who is more receptive of the spiritual. There is a Hindu mantra, the Gaitri mantra, which is said to be the greatest of all the mantras. In the chanting one asks the Creator Who is the Divine effulgence to to enlighten the intellect.
